Tournament Time!!!

After a long layoff, the Jackson County Bass Club will get back on the water this Saturday, June 15th at Greers Ferry Lake.  We will launch from the Hill Creek ramp at 5:30 and fish until 1:30.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call.  I feel like we will have another wonderful crowd.

Also, congratulations to JCBC member Mitch Brannon on his Portfest Tournament win!

Schedule Changes

Due to heavy rains and high river conditions, we will have to move the location of the Hurricane tournament again.

This morning, I sent a text message to many of our club members.  I also have talked to a number of guys on the phone.  Over the last few days, I have had many discussions about where we are going to fish the next tournament and also where we are going to fish in the future.

After taking votes and carefully considering the well-being of the club, the decision has been made to fish on June 15th at Greers Ferry Lake.  It came down to Lake Conway or Greers.  The vote was very close and many of the people that chose Conway were ok with fishing Greers too.  I will say that most people that chose Greers were ok with fishing Conway as well (that is what makes our club great!)  I appreciate everybody voting and calling with their suggestions, and I hope this decision doesn't upset anybody.

Greers is much higher now than it has been in a while, and that should improve the fishing conditions.  I realize the lake traffic will be a slight nuisance, but we will start early to get as much calm water fishing in as possible.  We will also go out of Hill Creek landing to try to stay away (as much as possible) from the skiing traffic.  We will fish from 5:30 until 1:30.  Please be there by around 5:00 to ensure that we can get on the water at daylight.

About the future:::  Going forward, we are going to decide each of our tournament locations about two weeks before the tournaments.  Our first priority is going to be to try to fish the White River at Jacksonport.  We will still consider Hurricane, HornerShireyPortia, East Lake, and Peckerwood among others.  If the river won't allow us to fish some of these locations, we will certainly revisit the Lake Conway thought.  I have had a few people mention that Lake Conway would be a great location for our classic, so we will try to finish out the schedule without using Conway until then (if possible).

I could see our remaining schedule finishing like this (but this is not confirmed)
June 15-----------Greers (Hill Creek)
July 13------------White River (Jacksonport)
August 3----------Hurricane
August 24---------East Lake
Sept 28 Classic---Peckerwood or Conway

Thank you all for being so patient and understanding.  It isn't easy trying to please everybody...hahaha!!!

Good luck and I hope to see you all at Hill Creek at 5:00 on the 15th!

If any of you guys are fishing the Portfest tournament, good luck to you, too!!!

Please call with any questions or concerns!
