Cade Cook with one of the 5 fish he brought to the scales, way to go Cade!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Typically the Lake Peckerwood tournament is one of the most anticipated tournaments of the year, and this tournament is a prime example as to why.  We had 22 boats fish today, 19 of those 22 boats brought in limits of fish and the other 3 were just a fish or two away from that 5 fish limit.  104 fish crossed the scale, with a total of 238.18 pounds.  The team that found the bigger than average fish and winning by over 4 pounds was the team of Ricky and Jason Gates anchored by a 5.92 pound Peckerwood mud turkey.  The remaining top 5 were separated by a little more than a pound with Second place going to Marvin Ross and Eugene Zuber, Third was Bob Hardin and Sawyer Floyd, Fourth being Michael and Chris Bruner and rounding out the top 5 was Nicky Gates and Jesse Cordell.  Great job guys!

Our next event will be on White River on July 25th, we will blast off from the Jacksonport launch.  Tournament times will be announced closer to the time of the tournament.  If the river looks like it will drop below 5 foot the tournament will be moved to the back up location being Lake Conway. With only 3 regular tournaments left in the year start looking at classic qualifying, and remember instead of 3 you have to fish 5 regular season tournaments to qualify!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

At our halfway point of the year we had quite the turnout with over 200 pounds of fish brought across the scales at a very water logged weigh in.  First Place with 15.91 lbs. went to the on fire team of Bill Wooten and Bill Elliot.  They have cashed in at the last 4 tournaments, with their worst finish being 2nd place!  Second place with 15.22 lbs. went to Andy and Greg Latting.  Third went to Ron Mounts and Darrell Fletcher, who also have not finished outside the top 3 in the past 4 showings.  We had a very rare situation for the 4th/5th place finish the two teams made up of Michael and Chris Bruner, and Blake and Mike Anshcultz tied with 14.27 lbs.  The rules state the points and/or winnings should be split between the two teams they decided to flip for the winnings and that went to Michael and Chris Bruner.  There was a mess of good 4 and 5 pound fish brought in, the biggest of the day was at 5.18 lbs. brought in by Eric Jackson and Mike Lawson.  Thanks to everyone for being patient yesterday during the downpour that had to make its appearance at the weigh in and congratulations to everyone.  The next tournament will be at Peckwood Lake on June 27th then we will have nearly a month break before fishing the White River on July 25th.  We will take off at 6:00 at Peckerwood, at the Red Barn Landing.  The owner has made it clear that the gate WILL NOT be opened until 5:00 that morning so don't expect to get in before then.  You will have to pay the full $7.50 to launch, but they are offering a $20 contingency that will go to the big bass winner.

After a short 2 week break in the action we will be fishing the George Kell Motors Lake Conway Clash this weekend (June 13th). We will blast off at 5:30 and fish until 1:30, if you haven't paid for your tee shirts yet I will have them with me for you to pick up. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call.

Also congratulations to club members Mitch Brannon, and Blake Anschultz on their first and second place finishes at the Porfest Buddy Bass Tournament this past weekend.  That makes 3 big wins in a row for Mitch, being the Mosquito Fest, Augusta Days, and now the Portfest Tournament, and Blake continues to build on the hot streak he has going.
