We originally planned to launch at the Narrows, but due to safety concerns, we will launch from Devils Fork. The plan is for everybody to be ready to take off at 6:15 am. Please pass the word on about this change. If you have any questions regarding the Classic, please feel free to call me.
Good Luck to everybody!

Congratulations to Michael Brand and Shane Ray. Going to Seven Mile paid off for them. They weighed a solid sack of over 10 lbs to win the Cache Bayou/Seven Mile tourney. Mike Warren and Dennis Ray dominated at Cache Bayou to take second place at just under 10 lbs. Their second place finish was aided by a 3.45 lb largemouth that won the big bass award. Third place was awarded to Brad Lewis and Dustin Roddy's five fish limit of just under 9 lbs. The tournament was another success with beautiful weather. The fish bit for many of the anglers, but these three boats led the way.

Cache Bayou/Seven Mile Tournament info
We are scheduled to fish this Saturday at Seven Mile and Cache Bayou. We will meet at 5:30 am at the store in Gregory. Everybody will declare there where they are going to fish and the rules will be explained at that time. We will probably try to weigh in at around 1:00 at one of the two fishing locations. If you have any questions, please give me a call.

Congratulations to Brad Kieffner and Billy Keedy! Their nice sack of 9.57 lbs was enough to win by over a pound. Brad also caught the biggest bass of the day at 3.02 lbs. Nicky and Fuzzy Gates took second place with 8.12 lbs. It was very tight between them and Luke Brownd and Cory Burgin. Luke and Cory had 8.11 lbs to finish third in their first tournament with the club. There seemed to be plenty of fish caught it was just the quality of the fish that these boats caught that put them in the money.

Important Tournament Information
I am sorry for the lack of updates lately, but I have been out of town for a while and busy with a lot of other things. It is now time for me to get back to fishing! There are a couple of important things that I need to let the club know:
#1 Due to high water conditions and membership requests, our next tournament (currently scheduled for Hurricane) has been changed to the White River at Jacksonport. We will leave from the Mary Woods at 5:30 on August 15th. Please try to be there around 5:00. We will all launch from the Mary Woods and fishing any adjoining water will be acceptable as long as the club rules are followed.
#2 Congratulations to Kenneth Haney and Danny Shedd! They won the White River-North tournament last weekend with 6.95 lbs. It sounds like the tournament went pretty well with a decent crowd and numerous fish weighed. Congrats also goes to Ron Snyder and Craig Anselmi for taking second place at 6.68 lbs. and to Michael Bruner and T. Li (hope I spelled that correctly) for third at 6.53 lbs. The Big Bass was caught by John Reed and Brad Robertson (2.75 lbs).
#3 I will try to get the AOY standings updated pretty soon.
#4 I know our schedule is over after September 19th (classic), but I have considered just having random tournaments during the late fall and just wonder what people think about that. I thought we could just watch the weather and plan a tournament a few days in advance if people are interested. I know many of our members deer hunt, but quite a few don't. I personally love to fish in October and November and know that others do to. It is just a thought, so if you have any thoughts about that, please feel free to call and let me know what you think. (870-512-9400).
Thanks

3 Bass --- 2.95 lbs

3rd Place
Michael Brand and Shane Ray
3 Bass --- 2.53 lbs
---------------------
Congratulations to Brad Lewis for winning the Barnett Tournament!!! He brought in 3 bass and was the only angler to bring a fish in over the 13-16 inch slot. His large fish was a 4.82 lb beauty! That fish alone would have won the tournament, but he had two other bass to boot. Second prize went to another solo angler, Bobby Teal. He brought 3 bass to the scales that weighed just under 3 pounds. Michael Brand and Shane Ray started their late season push with a solid third place finish at 2.53 lbs.
--------------------------
It seemed like an odd day all around. We had a hole in a boat, a flat tire on a trailer and a broken trolling motor. The slot sure didn't help anybody and could cause a different vote next year on this lake. Also, my camera broke, so I don't have any pictures for the website...sorry Brad!

Barnett Tourney
Once again, it is time to hit the water. We are fishing at Lake Barnett and putting in at Reed's landing (same place as last year). Please be there by 5:00 or 5:15. I would like us to get on the water by about 5:30 or 5:45 if possible. Please remember that there is a 13-16 inch slot at Barnett that will be enforced. If you have any questions, please give me a call. I look forward to seeing you all there early Saturday morning!

Congratulations to Nicky and Fuzzy Gates! They have established themselves as the team to beat. They brought in a season high 16.75 lbs to the weigh-in and won by over 4 lbs. They also had the big bass of the day at 4.24 lbs. Marvin Ross and Raymond Bradley came in with 12.69 lbs to claim second prize. Newcomers Kenzie Houston and Brandon Cook introduced themselves to the club with nearly 10 lbs of bass to take home 3rd. It was another wonderful tournament with many fish caught. The size of the fish seemed to be good and it was great to get the Jackson County Bass Club back on the water after more than a month off.

Tournament Stats
15 boats
30 fishermen
52 fish weighed
110.07 lbs of bass

I would like to thank everybody for participating again. I also would like to apologize for the delayed update to the site. Saturday I fell asleep and when I could have updated yesterday, my wife was on the computer doing school work (she is trying to get her Masters degree). I plan to have some pics up in the next few days.

PECKERWOOD TOURNEY and a few notes
There has been some discussion about the upcoming Peckerwood tournament. The decision has been made to fish at Peckerwood. We considered changing locations due to water conditions, but there have been some people that have pre-fished and it is only fair to keep it at that location. We will launch at 6:00 from the Red Barn landing (please try to be there a little early). If you have any questions regarding this tournament, please call me at 512-9400.
On a different note, I would like to congratulate a few members of our club. There have been three tournaments in the last month or so that our club has been represented very well. Ron Snyder and his partner (not sure who he fished with) won the Augusta Days tournament a few weeks ago (I heard with around 11 lbs). Two weekends ago Jerry Lane and Bill Wooten won the Portfest tournament with a whopping 26 pound bag of 7 fish. Calvin Ward and Jerry Burgess came in second with 18 lbs. This past weekend Nicky and Fuzzy Gates tied for big bass and won the overall Big Fat Bass Tournament at Hogue. This just lets everyone know that our club is a good club with some really good anglers. The competition is stiff and the tight standings are proving that.
See you soon!

Congratulations to Kenneth Haney and Danny Shedd! Kenneth and Danny were able to fight off the other boats and weather the storm to come to the ramp with 5 nice bass that weighed 12.82 lbs. Their largest bass was just over 3 lbs. Congrats also goes to Marc Keton and James Copeland as they were narrowly beaten by Haney and Shedd. Nicky and Fuzzy Gates continued their run for the AOY points lead with a third place finish.
The weather and crowd made this tournament a little different than others, but we managed to have our largest field of the year and best results as well. We had only two boats that were unable to weigh fish, but it sounds like there were a lot of fish caught out of Greers Ferry Lake again. I plan to post pics in the next few days, and I will update the AOY standings later in the week.

I owe an apology to Mr. Dwight (not Dewight) Jackson since I have spelled his name wrong so many times on the website. I was informed that he just goes by "Rat"!
-----------------------------------
Thanks again for the wonderful participation. One thing that I asked everyone to do at our meeting in February was to get the word out and try to build membership. So far things are going great. The level of interest in our club is great! I have received numerous calls about our club. Many of them are just questions, but some have been wonderful ideas that have helped our tournaments. We will continue to strive to make this the best bass club that it can be. If you have any comments or suggestions, please feel free to let me know.
Thanks

Greers Ferry (Hill Creek) Tournament
Well, we have learned that next Saturday there will be a couple of other large tournaments going out of Devil's Fork and Higden. There will probably be more than 100 other tournament boats on the water, but we have decided to keep our tournament at Hill Creek and just deal with it. We are going to launch at 5:45 from Hill Creek and we will just try to beat the other boat traffic.
We considered moving to the other part of the lake as well as moving to a totally different location, but we felt that since we have already made changes to the schedule that we would just leave it how it is. There is plenty of water up there to be fished, so good luck to everybody.
Please try to be there by 5:15, so that we can launch on time. Please call with any questions(870) 512-9400. I look forward to seeing everybody there!

SCHEDULE CHANGES and Updated AOY Standings
I posted yesterday that we would be having some major changes to the schedule. We are going to move some of the sites and combine two of the tournaments due to the amount of participation we have had so far this year. We realize that some people like to fish Seven Mile and some like to fish Cache Bayou, but fishing those locations with 15 boats would be tough. The two will be combined for one tournament (like we do at Hurricane). Each boat can decide where they want to fish.
New Tournament Schedule
May 16---------------Greers Ferry Lake (Hill Creek)
June 20--------------Peckerwood
July 11---------------Barnett
August 1-------------White River North
August 15------------Hurricane (Scramble)
August 29------------Seven Mile/Cache Bayou (Combined)

If you feel that there is a mistake, please contact me. I have a spreadsheet on the computer that figures all of this up for me, but that doesn't mean that the information is always correct. Keep in mind that each boat will drop its two worst tournaments on the schedule. Also, if you feel like you are out of it, remember that winning a tournament with the big bass gets you an automatic 25 points. That can get you right back in it!

MAJOR CHANGES
There are going to be some major changes to our fishing schedule due to all of the rain. I will announce those later on the website. Right now, I want everyone to know that our next tournament (May 16th---originally scheduled for Peckerwood) will now be at Greers Ferry Lake at the Hill Creek landing.
Just to let everyone know, we try to make decisions based on where the fishing conditions will be right for our tournaments. None of the dates are scheduled to change, just the locations. I will try to update the website with all of the changes in the next few days. I also plan to update the AOY standings this weekend as well.
Please let everyone know of this location change for our next tournament!
Thanks

Their 4.82 lb largemouth helped them win the tournament by nearly 2 1/2 pounds. Congratulations also goes to the newcomers of the club Ron Snyder and Mike Palmer. They brought 5 bass in that totaled 8.96 lbs. Jerry and Shawn Gates continue to show consistency by placing third at 8.09 lbs.
It was a very successful tournament with the wind blowing and the fish biting. It sounds like there were a ton of small fish caught, but each boat was able to bring at least one keeper to the weigh-in. I plan to post pictures and update the AOY standings in the next couple of days.

Thanks everybody for participating again, and I look forward to seeing everybody at Peckerwood in May.

CHANGE OF PLANS
Due to information I have received about a big tournament at Devil's Fork, we are going to change where we will put in for the Greers Ferry tournament this Saturday. We will now put in at the same place we did last year. It is the old Hwy 25 road that runs into the lake at Tumbling Shoals. We will begin fishing at 6:30, so please be there by 6:00. Also, please pass this information on to as many members as you can, so everybody will know. I am sorry for having to change, but we felt like it would be better to get away from that traffic, so maybe the fishing won't be so crowded and everybody will have a place to park!
Please call me if you have any questions (512-9400).
Thanks a lot!

Greers Ferry Tourney
It is about time to go fishing again! The weather forecast looks great. It should be around 80 degrees and breezy. We are going to put in at Devil's Fork (Steep Landing). We will begin fishing at 6:30 a.m., so please try to be there by 6:00. It has been decided to start at 6:30 because we could very likely be fishing 8 hours again and this would put us home a little earlier. Plus, there should be plenty of light for safe boating.
The AOY standings are getting a little tighter. So far Michael Brand and Shane Coe are still leading and Jerry and Shawn Gates are sitting in second place. I will update the standings on the website after the tournament at Greers.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
