Congratulations to Marvin Ross and Eugene Zuber for bringing the heaviest sack of Lake Conway bass in today.  After the long hiatus from fishing we had an exciting day on the water.  Second place Nicky Gates and Jesse Cordell were only inched out by two one hundreths of a pound.  The third place team who is putting together a solid year of fishing went to Jason Walker and Bobby Gates and newcomers to the club this year with their second top 5 finish was the team of Bob Hardin and Sawyer Floyd.  Fifth place anchored by a Lake Conway eight pound toad went to the father - son team of Andy and Greg Latting.  Congratulations to these guys for their performance in the stump field today.  We want to thank everyone for coming out, we had our second best turnout with 23 boats today!  Our next tournament will be June 28th at Lake Peckerwood, we will be launching from the Red Barn Landing, blast off time will be determined next week.

Congratulations to Blake and Mike Anschultz for bringing in a sack of smallmouth, anchored by a 2.93 pound brownie.  Second place, also with five smallmouth went to Brad Keifner and Billy Keedy, third was Brad and Larry Lewis, fourth place went to Nicky Gates and Jesse Cordell and rounding out the top five was Kenny Pearle and Johnny Alliston. The weather was nice and the fishing was even better, with  14 limits weighed in, and a little less than 2 pounds separating first and tenth place!  We had another great turnout today with 21 boats.  The next tournament will be at Lake Conway, we will take off from Palarm Creek on June 14th.  In the meantime the Augusta Days tournament will be on May 24th, and the Portfest tournament will be held on June 7th.  We encourage all of our anglers to go represent the JCBC at either or both of these tournaments!

The third tournament of the year is in the books, after the water settled Ron Mounts and Darrell Fletcher came out on top for their second win of the year and third consecutive time in the money.  Second place went to new comers Matt Ward and Hunter Thomas, third place making 2 consecutive times landing in the money was Nicky Gates and Jesse Cordell.  Fourth place and also their second time with a top five finish this year was Jason Walker and Bobby Gates.  Rounding out the top five and bringing in the big bass was Doug Cockrill and Dennis Browning for their first tournament this season.  Congratulations to all of these teams for capitalizing on a great day of fishing!  Rounding out the top 10 was Justin Doyle and Chip Youngblood, Marvin Ross and Raymond Bradley, Brad Kieffner and Billy Keedy, Andy and Greg Latting, and Bill Wooten and Eddie Watkins.  We had the largest tournament of the year this year playing host to a 25 boat, 50 fisherman field.  There were a lot of new faces around today that we are very proud to have, welcome guys! The next tournament will be at Greers Ferry, we will be launching from Hill Creek at 6 am.

Club Fish Fry

Alright guys, we had planed for a cookout at the first of the year to kick off the 2014 season.  Due to inclimate weather we weren't able to get together.  We have decided to go ahead and have a fish fry for the club.  We invite all current members to come, we will have the food you bring your drinks!  We will be doing this at Bill Wooten's house (thanks Bill!).  Any donations that we can get for the cook would be great.  Also if you know someone that may be on the fence about fishing with us, get in their ear and get them to come out!  This will be the Thursday before our Norfork tournament, if everything works right we may be able to get the shirts passed out that evening also.  Please let either Billy Keedy (870)512-9400, or Andy Latting 870-512-8588 know  So remember...

After another very tough tournament day, with rain just moving out and hopefully the last bit of cold weather we will have for a while Nicky Gates and Jesse Cordell brought in a huge sack of White River bass to bring home first place by an exceptional margin.  The only other limit was caught which was very hard to come by was brought in by Jason Walker and Bobby Gates which landed them a second place finish.  Ron Mounts and Darrell Fletcher continued a steady streak with a third place finish.  Newcomers Bob Hardin and Sawyer Floyd brought in a nice Kentucky for fourth place, welcome to the club guys!  Rounding out the top 5 was Andy Latting also bringing in just one fish.
