Congratulations to Mike Warren and Chuck Coe! Their nice sack of 9.76 lbs was plenty to take the White River championship. Their first place finish allowed them to make a nice move in the AOY standings. Speaking of AOY standings, Nicky and Fuzzy Gates continue their late season push to try to take the lead. They finished second with 7.95 lbs of bass and have made the AOY race VERY tight. We will see later how tight it really is. Third place went to Aaron and Andy Simpson. They weighed over 7 1/2 lbs as well and finished in the money. The Big Bass was brought to the scales by Andy Lancaster and Brian Lancaster! Eleven year old Andy was able to hang the biggest bass of the day on a football head jig with a crawdad trailer....his dad watched....haha!

Tournament Stats
15 boats
29 fishermen
41 bass weighed
61.48 lbs of bass
5 limits of bass caught

Due to the low water level, we have moved our next tournament from Peckerwood to Greers Ferry. We will launch from Devil's Fork on September 4th. Please pass the word to as many people as possible in the next week or so.

Tourney time again! (Plus another note)

It is time to fish again. We will launch from Jacksonport (Mary Woods ramp) at 6:00 Saturday morning. The river is low, but it won't be as low as they were predicting a few days ago. Currently the level is at 6.3 here at Newport, and it should remain at that level or even be a little higher (according to the forecast). We should have a good tourney. Please be at the ramp by 5:45. I figure we will have a good crowd. We will vote on Saturday to determine how long we will fish, so I would be prepared to fish until 2:00 or so.

Another piece of info:
I have been asked to inform the club of a benefit bass tournament that will be held at Greers Ferry on Saturday, August 21st. The tournament will benefit Doug Compton Ministries (www.dougcompton.com). Fishing will be from 6:00 until 12:00 from Devil's Fork. For details on the tournament call (870) 917-9198 and talk to Clint (or you can call me and I can answer some of the questions).

Look forward to seeing you all on Saturday!
